A PRAYER FOR PEACE IN ISRAEL

In recent days, there have been more than 4,000 rockets fired at Israel. This is unsettling news, but I am refusing to let the evil forces of this world steal my peace and joy. I trust God and I’m asking Him to intervene.

As I have written previously…I choose to believe that God is good no matter what happens on this earth. We can rest in knowing that Christ loves us deeper than our hearts and minds can comprehend (Ephesians 3:17-19).

The turmoil in Israel is a sign of the fierce battle that’s happening in the spiritual realm. As believers in Christ, we are called to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The Bible says that God blesses those who bless Israel (Genesis 12:1-3).

Please join me in praying for Israel.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being the ONE who brings peace. I decree the blood of Jesus Christ over Israel and ask You to protect the country from destruction. Surround Israel with Your protective angels and bring an end to the violence there. Give the government leaders wisdom to know how to protect Israel from devastation. Bring peace to Jerusalem and protect the innocent people throughout Israel. Keep Your hand upon their country and bring salvation to millions of souls in their land.

Let Your presence surround those who are suffering from loss and trauma in Israel. Place Your hands around every hurting person and be their refuge continually. Bring healing, hope, and a spirit of praise to the land of Jerusalem. Let the body of Christ continue to arise in fervent prayer until we see Your kingdom come and Your will be done on EARTH as it is in HEAVEN. I pray in Christ’s name.

“Violence will not be heard again in your land, nor devastation or destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls salvation, and your gates praise.” Isaiah 60:18

Grace and peace,

Amy

A PRAYER AND ENCOURAGEMENT FOR WEARY MOMS

Motherhood is the job that is shaping the future of our world like no other job. Mothering is by far one of the hardest jobs. There are no accolades during the formative years of our children’s lives. The rewards come later when we see our adult children making a difference in their communities. With the day-to-day stresses of being an active-duty mom, the difficulties of parenting can begin to override the immense joys that come from motherhood.

Being a mother is not easy, but with God’s help, it’s possible to savor every part of motherhood. The words in Psalm 127:3 are true: Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a real blessing (Good News Translation).

I am very grateful that I savored motherhood, because my two children are grown now. It seems like they grew up in lightning speed. My son, Thomas, is twenty-four years old and my daughter, Christa, is thirty-one years old. They are truly the most treasured gifts that God has given me along with the gift of marriage.

One of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made in life was quitting my merchandising/sales job with Procter and Gamble. Leaving that job enabled me to focus on being a mommy while I worked as a nanny and worked at other part-time jobs along the way.  Trying to be a good career woman and a good mother at the same time was not for me. I couldn’t do both well.

While I was raising my children, the words of my father-in-law echoed in my mind: “Enjoy the years of raising your children because in the blink of an eye, they’ll be grown.” I remember thinking intently about the words my father-in-law had spoken decades before, as I drove away from the college campus where my youngest child had just enrolled for classes.

In 2015, as I was preparing for my youngest child to begin college, thoughts of my little boy running around with his action figures were colliding with thoughts of the young man who signed up for college Algebra and English 1101. It seemed impossible that my son could be signing up for college classes. Memories of Thomas flooded my mind. I thought about the times when he was a wee little guy testing my patience. When he was small, I chased him around the library while he was screaming: “No, I don’t want to leave!” I will always remember the tantrum in the library, but what stands out most in my mind are the sounds of laughter and squealing of excitement over the joys of life through a child’s eyes.

Motherhood is a gift to be savored even though there are really hard moments with raising children.

At times, I felt weary during the parenting years, but I truly savored all that comes with being a mother. I chose to savor the late night feedings when my children were infants. I savored the noise of boisterous children when the neighborhood kids gathered to play in our home. I savored the never-a-dull-moment-teen-years along with the piles of sweaty work-out clothes from daily football practices. I savored the orthodontist appointments and school meetings. I savored the hours of volunteer duties that came along with being a sports mom. I savored making snacks, countless meals, and the seemingly endless dishes that needed to be washed. I savored the sound of giggling girls in the van while being the carpool mom for the volleyball team. I savored every single moment of motherhood because I recognized that the duty of raising little ones into loving, generous people was truly the greatest honor to be cherished amidst the significant fleeting moments.

My prayer today is for the weary moms to be encouraged and strengthened. If you are feeling burdened, may you look to Christ and let Him give you rest.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

LORD,

Thank You for carrying every burden of life. Please be with all of the moms who are weary and burdened with heaviness in their spirits. Strengthen them and give them rest for their souls. Help them to know You in a deeper way and let them cast their burdens upon You. Let them look to You every day for strength and hope. Let them walk closely with You and trust You with their children’s lives. I pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

I HOPE YOU HAVE A HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY. 🌻

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER: LORD, POUR OUT YOUR LOVE, LIFE, AND LIBERTY

Today is the NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER in America. The theme for the year is: “Lord, pour out Your love, life, and liberty.” As I was pondering the theme of this year, I remembered some words I had written in 2013 about how important it is to be filled with God’s love. The Lord gave me a revelation about the importance of walking in His love during the end times. It was a powerful and life-changing revelation for me, so I sense Christ leading me to share these words.

I heard the Lord say how critical it is to live in His love. Those who are not living and walking in His love continually are going to feel defeated. The words in quotation marks are what I wrote during my prayer time about eight years ago.

During these perilous times while the enemy is wreaking havoc on people, you will be safe if you remain in My love. Remain in My love and you will see miracle after miracle. It is My love that releases My power in your lives. As you walk in My love, you will be empowered to do great things on the earth. While the world gives way to darkness, you will rise up and shine brightly because of My unconditional love exuding from within you. Make it your highest priority to grow in My love daily. The love you show toward one another will be what draws lost souls into the kingdom of God. It is critical that you live in My love every day until the end of the age. My love will be the defining factor that separates the wheat from the tares and will produce a harvest of pure souls ready for my second coming. Those who are not grounded in My love will fall away from their faith. Ask Me daily to fill your heart to overflowing with My love. Meditate on the scriptures in 1 Corinthians 13 and always remember that My love never fails.”

During those moments of hearing Christ whispering to my heart, I realized that one of our most effective ways to overcome darkness is to walk in Christ’s love continually. I had never thought of love as a way to fight our spiritual battles until the Lord said those words to me. At that time, I realized how vulnerable we are to spiritual warfare when we step out of Christ’s love toward others.

There can be no darkness where there is love. God is love. His light will always remain in us as long as we remain in His love. I believe that loving Christ and sharing Christ’s love with others are our greatest purposes for being on the earth.

As we pray for the Lord to pour out love, life, and liberty, let’s ask Him to make us vessels of His love every day. While walking in God’s love, we will bring true liberty and life to our country.

LORD,

Thank You for Your everlasting love for us. Our world is in desperate need of Your love. Please pour our Your love on us today and every day. Help us to lead others to Your saving grace and show them that true life is found in Christ alone. Bring liberty to the ones who are oppressed and set countless people free as they look to You. Use us as mighty vessels of Your love to bring change to our country and ultimately in our world. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

“By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.” John 13:35

“Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12

“Just as the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; remain in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. This I command you, that you love one another.”  John 15:9-17

“Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with. ” 1 Corinthians 13:8

“And at that time many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will rise up and mislead many people. And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will become cold.” Matthew 24:10-12

A PRAYER FOR EASTER

Resurrection Sunday is a beautiful time to reflect on all that we have been given through the cross. Christ died so that we can spend eternity with Him. He paid the price in full for every sin.

We are called to live righteously in this world, but we are free to live in God’s amazing grace throughout our lives. In the midst of our struggles and battles, it is Christ alone that enables us to live a righteous life.

Because of the cross, we no longer need to feel shame or guilt when we mess up. We no longer need to fight a battle that’s already been won by Jesus. When we stumble, we can simply stand up and ask God to help us begin again. If righteousness could be gained in our own strength, then Christ died for nothing.

Galatians 2:20-21 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died needlessly.”

May you live every day with a keen awareness of Christ’s love for you and know that your REDEEMER lives.

LORD,

There are no sufficient words to thank You for Your gift to mankind. Your love is like no other love. You catch our tears when we’re sad. You heal our hearts when we’re broken. You fill us with an unfathomable peace and wipe away every single tear. You fill us with Your righteousness and graciously help us when we stumble. You fill us with confidence and courage to follow our dreams. You give us real joy and heavenly treasures. You make life beautiful with Your presence. Let us never stop proclaiming Your goodness to the world. We love You, our beloved Christ. Amen.

A CHRISTMAS PRAYER FOR PEACE

My heart melts in the presence of Christ. As His Spirit envelops my soul, I just want to dance, worship, and fall at His feet. His presence is so real that it feels as though I can touch Jesus.

I have never seen Christ with my physical eyes, but when His tangible presence floods the room, there is an inexpressible peace that comes in like a gentle winter snow falling to the ground.

There’s a song that describes the delicate beauty of the presence of Christ. “Winter Snow” by Audrey Assad and Chris Tomlin touches me deeply when I listen to it. It causes me to stop what I’m doing and draw near to Christ.

The lyrics are words that speak of the softness of Christ’s love: “Could’ve come like a mighty storm with all the strength of a hurricane. You could’ve come like a forest fire with the power of heaven in Your flame. But You came like a winter snow…quiet and soft and slow. Falling from the sky in the night to the earth below.”

My prayer this Christmas is that many people will stop to feel the softness of Christ’s Spirit and rest in His perfect love in the midst of a chaotic world. I pray that His Spirit will bring the peace that souls are longing for. Ultimately, I pray that Christ’s Spirit will cover this earth like a beautiful blanket of snow and countless souls will bask in His unfailing love.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank You for Your unfailing love and grace. Please guard our hearts and minds with Christ’s perfect peace during the Christmas season and throughout the coming year. Let us take hold of all that You came to the earth to give us and help us live in harmony with each other. Let us look to You continually and let us trust You wholeheartedly to carry us through every battle. Let us rest in Your presence every day and remain peaceful at all times. Let us bask in the immeasurable love of Christ until the day of His return.

Lord, I trust You to pour out an unprecedented measure of Your Spirit in the coming days and draw multitudes of souls into Your loving arms. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

May you have a blessed and peaceful Christmas.

3 PRAYERS FOR OUR NATION AND WORLD

Many people seem to be filled with distress and anxiety as they face the reality of what is happening in America and around the world. Without a doubt, our world is in need of fervent and consistent prayer. There is nothing more important than prayer in the life of a follower of Christ. Our prayers birth God’s promises and help bring forth His will. As we pray, we are partnering with Christ to help build His kingdom on the earth.

Recently, I have witnessed God’s people praying more consistently and passionately than ever before. I have been in awe as I’ve watched the church arise. A portion of the body of Christ has been fully awakened and has begun praying with tremendous fervency. I believe a remnant of the worldwide church has risen up and we are all praying in unison. It is so beautiful and surreal to watch the end time army in action. With a heart of gratitude for answered prayers, I weep tears of joy every time I witness the body of Christ coming together to pray.

In the midst of the chaos that’s happening, Jesus is the world’s only hope.

Let’s continue to pray for each one of our countries, our cities, and the leaders of the world.

A Prayer for God-Appointed Leaders

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the good plans and vision You have for our nation. We are asking You to keep Your hand firmly placed upon our country. Heal our land and let our nation be filled with Your glory and light. I trust You to turn things around in our cities and let Your chosen ones be elected as our leaders. We believe it is Your desire for us to elect leaders who will support Israel and support our values. We are grateful our nation was founded upon Your truth, and we are asking You to appoint the leaders who will help support the foundation of our biblical principles. We know that it is You alone who can do miracles, and we trust You to carry our nation out of the darkness and into Your marvelous light. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)

A Prayer for Peace to Cover Our Cities

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being our peace-giver. We know that You are watching our world from above and You can see the turmoil that is happening. We are asking You to cover our cities with Your peace and we trust You to bring an end to the violence in our neighborhoods during the days ahead. We are decreeing the blood of Jesus Christ over our nation and asking You to protect our cities from devastation or destruction. Keep Your hand upon our nation and bring salvation to millions of souls and let our communities be filled with songs of praise. Let the body of Christ continue to arise in fervent prayer until we see Your kingdom come and Your will be done on the earth as it is in HEAVEN. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

“Violence will not be heard again in your land, nor devastation or destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls salvation, and your gates praise.”

Isaiah 60:18

A Prayer for Unity in the Worldwide Church

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving us with an everlasting love and for filling us with eternal peace and joy. Let a spirit of unity fall upon the church to replace a spirit of dissension. Let God’s people walk in love toward each other and walk in authority all over the earth. Let us, the body of Christ, keep our eyes continually fixed upon You and help us carry out the great commission. Let us be humble and gentle with one another and let the fruit of the Spirit grow daily in each of our lives. Help us to walk in the truth continually and let us pray for those who do not know the truth. Clothe us in humility and let our love for one another be what draws lost souls into Your kingdom. Bring perfect unity in the body of Christ and let every member of Your church put away childish differences and truly begin to serve You with one heart and one mouth.  Above all, let us love You with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind, and let us love our neighbor as ourselves. We love You and we are eagerly waiting for Your return. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

“Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another, according to Christ Jesus, so that with one purpose and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Romans 15:5-6

May Christ bless you and keep you in the shadow of His wings.

PRAYER FOR GOD’S PEOPLE TO WAKE UP

In 2018 on the evening of Yom Kippur, my husband and I were attending a prayer gathering in a chapel in Atlanta, Georgia. During the meeting, many of the attendees heard a trumpet sound. It was as though someone was blowing a shofar—the trumpet that is described in the Bible (1 Thessalonians 4:16). As we stood there in amazement, listening to the loud trumpet, we knew it was a supernatural sign from God, because there was nobody at the meeting with a shofar.

Soon after the meeting, I prayed and asked God to reveal to me what the meaning of the trumpet sound was for us. In my spirit, I heard these words: “The trumpet sound was the call of Zion…a call to repentance.”

For years, I have believed that Christ’s return is sooner than most people realize. Nobody except our heavenly FATHER knows the day or the hour of our Savior’s return (Matthew 24:36). However, we can know the general season by the signs that we are seeing on the earth.

Without a doubt, it is time for God’s people to wake up fully. There has never been a more important time to wake up from spiritual slumber and walk in repentance continually.

Shortly after the COVID-19 crisis began, the Lord began speaking words to my heart about the state of things in the world. I heard these words in my heart: “Human systems are being broken down so that kingdom systems can be built.” In other words, God is tearing down the systems that are not of His kingdom. As I pondered those words, I thought about the disappointment of people who have placed their hope in the systems built by men. The upcoming days, months, and years will be very disappointing for anyone who has not placed their hope in Christ and His kingdom.

For the believer in Christ, these end times will be filled with a sense of awe. I believe that a great spiritual awakening is being birthed, and we are at the cusp of seeing millions of people turn to Christ. The world desperately needs Jesus, and it seems that people only want Him when they feel desperate.

I know that God did not cause the pandemic, but I believe He has used it to bring forth an awesome prayer movement and bring our nation back to making Christ the center of everything. This process will not happen instantly, but we are going to see God’s glory in unimaginable ways.

Let’s pray for God to wake us up fully and use us mightily in the days leading to His return.

Our Beloved Jesus,

Thank You for loving us perfectly. Thank You for Your patience, kindness, and mercy. We come to You and humbly repent of the sins that so easily entangle us. We want to be awakened fully and we desire to keep our eyes continually focused upon You. Wake us up from our spiritual slumber and help us live every moment fully awakened in Christ. Help us take our eyes off of the trivial things of this world and let us do the work You’ve called us to do while on the earth. Use us to lead people to Your saving grace and use us to bring hope to people in desperate need. I pray in Your name, Christ. Amen.

“Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Ephesians 5:14

5 PSALM PRAYERS FOR OUR SONS & DAUGHTERS

The Psalms are soothing to the soul and there is power in praying them over our children. Prayer changes the lives of our children, and praying the words from the Psalms is especially powerful. Today, I’m sharing five of the prayers from my latest book, The Desperate Mom’s Prayer Book. I hope these prayers are a blessing to you.

Lord, thank You for loving my children more than I do. I ask You to go before them and be at their right hand. Prepare a divine path for them and let them follow You wholeheartedly. Take away all their fears and fill them with an unshakable faith. Help my children live courageously and let them be bold carriers of the gospel message of Jesus Christ. I pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8

Lord, thank You for being the strength and shield of my children. Protect them from the tactics of the enemy through the power and blood of Jesus Christ. Help my children to trust You more. Fill their hearts with joy today and every day. Let them sing the praises of Your goodness. I pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him. Psalm 28:7

Lord, thank You for being a refuge and strength for my children. Help them draw near to You every day and trust You in times of trouble. Help them to walk away from fear and to rely on You to do miracles in their lives. Let them rest in Your presence and be filled with Your peace always. I pray in Christ’s name. Amen

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

Lord, thank You for being a shield to our sons and daughters. I ask You to surround them with Your glory and give them grace for each day of their lives. Help them to live with integrity and excellence in everything they do. Bless them with good things as they walk uprightly each day.  I pray in Your name, Christ. Amen.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord gives grace and glory; no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11

Lord, thank You for being a strong anchor for my children. I ask You to help them in every area of their lives. Let Your favor rest upon them always. Help them to call upon You for help each day and be grounded in the truth of the Bible. Establish the work of their hands and help them to succeed in all they do. I pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; and confirm for us the work of our hands; yes, confirm the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17

A PRAYER FOR AMERICA

As we celebrate “Independence Day” in America, let us pray passionately for God’s plans to come forth for the United States.

Even though there is turmoil happening in America, I know that God has not given up on us and He has great plans for this nation. I feel led by Christ to share a prayer that I wrote years ago.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your amazing grace and mercy. We come to You and humbly ask that You keep Your hand on this nation. We are sorry for leaving You out of our decision making so many times. We realize that our country is in danger and we need You desperately to intervene. Let us turn away from all that draws us away from Your love and return to You wholeheartedly. Let us be unified and walk with brotherly love toward one another.

I believe it is Your desire to see this nation thrive and be restored. Let us rise up and be the nation that You always dreamed we would be. Let us show those around us that You are compassionate and abounding in love. Raise our country into a mighty nation and let us be a bright light in the world. Let us live for You purposefully and passionately. We ask You to protect us from calamity. We trust You to do great and mighty things in this nation. We ask You to continue blessing America and let us be a blessing to all nations of the earth. We love You and place our hope in You alone. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!

A PRAYER FOR THE FATHERLESS

Everyone in the world has the desire to have a loving and caring father. However, in this fallen world, there are many children and adults who have never experienced a father’s love. I have deep compassion for those who are fatherless.

My prayer is that every hurting person (child or adult) will experience the priceless gift of God’s perfect love and rest in knowing how deeply compassionate is the heart of our FATHER IN HEAVEN.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving us with a perfect, fatherly love. I ask You to comfort every son and daughter who is hurting today and missing their earthly fathers. Draw close to them and let them know that You are the Father to the fatherless. Help those without a father to rest in Your presence and know that You will never leave them, nor forsake them. Help them look to You always as their provider, nurturer, and protector.

Reveal Your love to them and fill the void by sending a trustworthy man who can help guide and lead them through their lives. Let them walk with confidence and faith in Your ability to meet the longings of their hearts. I pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

“A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.”  Psalm 68:5
