A PENTECOST PRAYER: THANKING GOD FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT

On this Pentecost Sunday, I am thanking God for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I cannot imagine life without God’s Spirit. The Spirit of God is our lifeline. Without Him, we are lost. The Holy Spirit guides us, helps us, comforts us, reveals to us the areas in our lives that need to be sanctified, and the list goes on.

It’s a glorious time to be alive because the Holy Spirit is being poured out like never before. May you lift your arms in praise of our HEAVENLY FATHER and receive more of His Holy Spirit to empower you for the days ahead.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for pouring out Your Spirit on us today in a way that will change us eternally.

During the days ahead, bring forth a movement of Your Spirit that will bring true repentance to countless souls. Let Your Holy Spirit permeate the lives of every believer in Christ. Help us live fully awakened and help us pray more fervently than ever before.

Empower us with a greater measure of Your Spirit. Help us accomplish everything You created us for. Fill us with more of Your Holy Spirit and let each one of us be used mightily to share Christ’s love with hurting people. Give us Holy Spirit boldness and tenacity for the battles that lie ahead. Help us be peacemakers and help our families bring change to the world until the day of Christ’s return. I pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Acts 4:31

A PENTECOST DEVOTION: PRAISING GOD FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT

Every day, I’m filled with gratitude for the Holy Spirit. I’m especially grateful today and I’m praising God on this Pentecost Sunday. Without the Holy Spirit it would be impossible to live the Christian life. It’s only through the power of God’s Spirit that we can live the way God designed for us to live.

Galatians 5:22-23 (TLB) says: “But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control…”

We know we are living by the power of the Holy Spirit when our lives are defined by the fruits of God’s Spirit. If we don’t have God’s Spirit controlling us, then there will be bad fruits in our lives. Thankfully, God’s Spirit-controlled people are able to be the most loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled people in the world as we continually allow God to fill us with His Spirit.

The Holy Spirit empowers us to do everything we’re called to do. Trying to live without the power of the Holy Spirit is like trying to fly a kite without the wind. We don’t need to struggle through life. When we need help, we can simply pray: “Holy Spirit, baptize me and help me.

Rest in God today and know that through the power of His Spirit, we can live abundant, empowered lives.

Hallelujah.

Happy Pentecost Sunday!
