LOVING PEOPLE WHO ARE HARD TO LOVE

My all-time favorite sermon titled “Love Your Enemies” delivered by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is the most powerful speech I’ve ever heard. Americans desperately need to hear this message that was delivered on November 17, 1957. Dr. King’s anointed words are just as relevant today as they were 67 years ago. Dr. King said: “Love is understanding creative redemptive goodwill for all men.”

Christ’s love is what the world needs more than anything else.

Matthew 5:43-48 says: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

It’s easy to love the people who are kind to us and treat us well. The difficulty of loving comes when people are mean to us and treat us unfairly. Judgmental people who say unkind, critical words are the hardest people for me to love. But through Christ’s Spirit and power, I am able to love those who don’t love me.

I believe it’s only through the power of God that we can love our enemies and pray for the mean people to have a joyful life. The people who are hardest to love are the ones who need it the most. Christ’s love flowing through us coupled with prayer will bring transformation.

Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It never fails.

We can make a huge difference in our world if we learn to love all people regardless of our differences and varying beliefs. God (LOVE) will transform our world if we will follow Christ’s command to love our enemies.

I am inspired by the words that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said: “I still have a dream…men will rise up and come to see that they are made to live together as brothers…” May Dr. King’s dream come true. May we always walk in love and live as peacemakers.

Let’s pray for the CHURCH to rise up and love one another as Christ taught us.

LORD,

Thank You for Your grace and mercy that never ends. Help us to love our enemies with Your perfect love. Help us to love those who persecute us and spitefully use us. Let Your unconditional love be what the CHURCH is known for.

Bring unity and a spirit of brotherhood upon our land. Bring forth countless peacemakers in our country to bring change to our communities and help us live in harmony with each other. Let us all walk together in our diversities as one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Let every person from every race or background be treated equally with respect and honor. Cover our cities with Your peace and protect our neighborhoods from civil unrest during the days ahead.

Show countless people Your radical love. Speak to the hearts of all the people who call You, “Lord.” Raise us up to be the CHURCH You want us to be. Let us rise up and become people who love You fully and love each other perfectly. Let Your perfect love rule in the hearts of all Your followers. Make us ready for Your return, without a blemish or stain.

Awaken millions of souls to the reality of their need for Christ’s love and peace. Let the greatest spiritual awakening spread across our world. Let us arise in fervent prayer until we see Your kingdom come and Your will be done in America. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

I hope you will listen to this powerful sermon…

A PRAYER FOR PEACE

As I was talking with a friend yesterday about the Lord, I began telling her that peace is what the world needs more than anything else. Christ’s peace is one of the greatest gifts of life. Jesus is peace. His peace is like no other peace. It’s a peace that truly transcends our understanding.

When my son was suicidal years ago, I was amazed at the perfect peace Christ gave me. The Lord held me in His arms and flooded my soul with peace even in the moments that I did not know if my beloved child was alive or not. Since that day, I have rejoiced almost continually over Christ’s awesome gift of peace.

My desire is that an entire generation will be awakened and know that only Christ can give a person an unshakable peace in the soul.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your peace that surpasses all understanding. I ask You to guard our hearts and minds with Christ’s perfect peace. Awaken millions of souls to the reality of their need for Christ’s peace. Let the CHURCH take hold of all that You came to the earth to give mankind, and help us live in harmony with each other. Let us look to You when we are grieving and let us trust You wholeheartedly to carry us through every battle. Help us to continually turn away from fear, let us rest in knowing You do impossible things, and enable us to walk in strong faith until the day of Christ’s return. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:9

May your heart be filled with Christ’s indescribable peace this Christmas.

PRAY BOLDLY!

A PRAYER FOR THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE

My heart yearns for the Lord to return to this broken world and defeat evil. Until Christ returns, I will continue to pray passionately for His perfect will to come forth on the earth.

I trust Jesus with all my heart, and I will not give up praying for evil to be defeated.  What an awesome day it will be when all evil is gone forever. Hallelujah.

LORD,

Thank You for being the ONE who makes all things new. Thank You for being our helper in times of trouble. Thank You for being our peace-giver. Thank You for the countless times You have moved mountains that seemed impossible to move. Thank You for being our eternal protector and comforter. You are the calming peace among every storm of life. You are everything we need.

I am lifting up the innocent people of Ukraine to You in prayer. Let the Ukrainian people look to You as their refuge and source of strength. Fill them with hope and peace. Protect the children and civilians as they are seeking to find a safe place.

Keep Your hand upon their nation and bring an end to the violence there. Send an army of angels to defeat the evil forces. Bring the leaders to their knees and let them be guided by Your Holy Spirit so that peace will come forth. Pour out Your Spirit in an unprecedented way and bring revival to God’s people in Ukraine. Let miracles come forth out of the devastation. Let the body of Christ continue to arise in fervent prayer until we see Your kingdom come and Your will be done on the earth as it is in HEAVEN. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

3 PRAYERS FOR OUR NATION AND WORLD

Many people seem to be filled with distress and anxiety as they face the reality of what is happening in America and around the world. Without a doubt, our world is in need of fervent and consistent prayer. There is nothing more important than prayer in the life of a follower of Christ. Our prayers birth God’s promises and help bring forth His will. As we pray, we are partnering with Christ to help build His kingdom on the earth.

Recently, I have witnessed God’s people praying more consistently and passionately than ever before. I have been in awe as I’ve watched the church arise. A portion of the body of Christ has been fully awakened and has begun praying with tremendous fervency. I believe a remnant of the worldwide church has risen up and we are all praying in unison. It is so beautiful and surreal to watch the end time army in action. With a heart of gratitude for answered prayers, I weep tears of joy every time I witness the body of Christ coming together to pray.

In the midst of the chaos that’s happening, Jesus is the world’s only hope.

Let’s continue to pray for each one of our countries, our cities, and the leaders of the world.

A Prayer for God-Appointed Leaders

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the good plans and vision You have for our nation. We are asking You to keep Your hand firmly placed upon our country. Heal our land and let our nation be filled with Your glory and light. I trust You to turn things around in our cities and let Your chosen ones be elected as our leaders. We believe it is Your desire for us to elect leaders who will support Israel and support our values. We are grateful our nation was founded upon Your truth, and we are asking You to appoint the leaders who will help support the foundation of our biblical principles. We know that it is You alone who can do miracles, and we trust You to carry our nation out of the darkness and into Your marvelous light. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)

A Prayer for Peace to Cover Our Cities

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being our peace-giver. We know that You are watching our world from above and You can see the turmoil that is happening. We are asking You to cover our cities with Your peace and we trust You to bring an end to the violence in our neighborhoods during the days ahead. We are decreeing the blood of Jesus Christ over our nation and asking You to protect our cities from devastation or destruction. Keep Your hand upon our nation and bring salvation to millions of souls and let our communities be filled with songs of praise. Let the body of Christ continue to arise in fervent prayer until we see Your kingdom come and Your will be done on the earth as it is in HEAVEN. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

“Violence will not be heard again in your land, nor devastation or destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls salvation, and your gates praise.”

Isaiah 60:18

A Prayer for Unity in the Worldwide Church

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving us with an everlasting love and for filling us with eternal peace and joy. Let a spirit of unity fall upon the church to replace a spirit of dissension. Let God’s people walk in love toward each other and walk in authority all over the earth. Let us, the body of Christ, keep our eyes continually fixed upon You and help us carry out the great commission. Let us be humble and gentle with one another and let the fruit of the Spirit grow daily in each of our lives. Help us to walk in the truth continually and let us pray for those who do not know the truth. Clothe us in humility and let our love for one another be what draws lost souls into Your kingdom. Bring perfect unity in the body of Christ and let every member of Your church put away childish differences and truly begin to serve You with one heart and one mouth.  Above all, let us love You with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind, and let us love our neighbor as ourselves. We love You and we are eagerly waiting for Your return. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

“Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another, according to Christ Jesus, so that with one purpose and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Romans 15:5-6

May Christ bless you and keep you in the shadow of His wings.
